Dashboards
The School Frontier’s School Performance Dashboards allow for easy comparison across schools, subjects, and years. School Leaders will improve goal setting by using the dashboards to visualize school trends.
Usability Tips
District & School Filters
The Entity filters default to show all schools in Pennsylvania. To search for a specific District or School, deselect (All) and select the desired District or School. Users can search for the desired entity or locate it in the drop down menu.
Keep the mouse cursor within the corresponding District or School Filter box to exit the filter options screen.
PSSA Filters
The Year, Grade, Demographic, and Subject Filters only apply to the PSSA and Keystone assessment data in the stacked bar graph feature. The PA Department of Education does not provide Attendance data with the same level of granularity.
The desired Year range can be adjusted via the Year Slider tool. Note that if a year range is selected, the stacked bar graph for assessment data will take an average of the selected years.
The Grade, Demographic, and Subject Filters will work similarly to the Year Slider. The desired item(s) can be selected but note that the stacked bar graph for assessment data will take an average of the filtered selections.
Note that when selecting from the Grade, Demographic, and Subject Filters after the desired item(s) have been selected, keep the mouse cursor within the corresponding Filter box to exit the filter options screen.
Navigating the Map Tool
The desired school may be selected directly or by grouping. Grouping can be performed by hovering over the map, hovering over the ▶ symbol, and selecting a selection method. The map provides rectangular, circular and free-form selectors. Once the desired selector is chosen, users can multi-select geographically close schools.
The map tool can be zoomed in and out by using either the mouse scroll-wheel or the + and – buttons that appear when hovering over the map.
Data are sourced from the PA Department of Education, Future Ready PA Index public data files, https://futurereadypa.org/Home/DataFiles. Some values may not be available or may have been omitted by the PA Department of Education for anonymity.
