Grant Writing & Management

We find the grants your school qualifies for, write the proposals that win them, and manage compliance once they're funded.

What Is It

School Frontiers serves as your school's grant partner. We identify and pursue new grant revenue such as competitive federal, state, and private/foundation opportunities. In addition, we can manage every awarded grant from budget setup through the final closeout. Grant Writing & Management is focused on growing your school's funding base.

How It Works

We structure the engagement around three core functions โ€” Identify, Pursue, and Manage โ€” run continuously across the school year rather than around a single deadline:

1
Identify
We conduct an annual grant landscape scan across federal discretionary programs, state competitive grants, and private/foundation funders, screening each opportunity against the school's strategic priorities, current funding gaps, and realistic capacity to implement. The result is a prioritized Grant Opportunity Calendar reviewed with school leadership before any proposal work begins.
2
Pursue
For every opportunity the school decides to pursue, we lead full proposal development: a needs statement built from the school's own enrollment, achievement, and demographic data; a logic model and measurable objectives; a budget and budget narrative aligned to allowable costs; and every required assurance, attachment, and signature.
3
Manage
Once a grant is awarded, we can own the administration: budget tracking against award terms, programmatic and financial reporting on the funder's schedule, documentation maintained in audit-ready condition, and a final report and closeout package at the end of the grant period. Nothing awarded is handed back to school staff to manage alone.

Objectives

โ†’
Diversify and grow revenue beyond per-pupil funding by securing competitive federal, state, and private/foundation grants aligned to the school's strategic priorities
โ†’
Increase proposal win rate by building funder-aligned narratives โ€” grounded in the school's own data and written in the funder's language, not just the school's
โ†’
Remove the burden of grant-seeking and grant administration from school leaders and teachers so program design gets their attention, not paperwork
โ†’
Build a sustainable, multi-year grant portfolio rather than a one-time award, so funding supports the school's long-term plan instead of plugging a single-year gap
